This week for Tech Tip Tuesday, we're showing you how to install a front swaybar relocate kit. This, in particular, is our SBR-210-RSDK, other kits are available here.
This kit is designed for specific Toyota vehicles and helps to relocate the front sway bar to prevent it from contacting the coil/shock off road.
Here are the steps involved in the installation process, based on the information in the product description and the YouTube video:
- Install the sway bar relocation bracket: This bracket moves the sway bar down and forward, away from the coil/shock.
- Address contact with the radiator support bracket: The relocated sway bar may come into contact with the radiator support bracket. To address this, spacers are provided in the kit to move the sway bar down and create clearance. The spacers are installed in the rear, front, and inside of the arm.
- Fine-tuning the clearance: If, after tightening everything up, the sway bar still makes contact, a 1/16 inch washer can be added to the front for more clearance.
